Dear Supporters!
​
We’ve changed our name! On June 1st, 2025, Drag Artists for Expression NYC (formerly Drag Story Hour NYC) was born! This name change came about after the organization made a public announcement of our desire for a name change to better reflect our mission and vision.
​
Moving forward, our working name will be “Drag Artists for Expression NYC” (“DAENYC”)! This name has a twofold meaning for us. It is an extension of the literacy and arts-based work that we do with youth, families, and communities throughout NYC’s five boroughs to build acceptance and joy in all forms of self-expression, and it also reflects the gorgeous breadth of expression of our community.

This year, we’ve completed over 100 programs to date, serving over 4,000 participants!
This PRIDE month we ask that you support us under our new name, so we can continue to support our participants to build their confidence through self-expression and self-acceptance, while also serving the larger communities that we help to build in all five boroughs.

Your $250 contribution provides a free storytime to schools that might otherwise be unable to access our programming​

Your $100 contribution assists DAE NYC is providing makeup, costuming and performance-based programming to allow youth to explore new ways to express themselves​

Your $75 contribution helps us implement ongoing professional development training for our Storytellers and staff​

Your $50 contribution helps us provide new books to our Storytellers that more deeply reflect the beautiful diversity of our city​

Your $25 contribution provides DAE NYC with materials for mixed-media arts activities for our participants, so they can express themselves however they feel most comfortable
Please note, our legal name is still “Drag Queen Story Hour NYC Ltd”, and don't worry, there is no legal or fiscal impact on our operations or partnerships. All donations are still tax deductible, and as always, every dollar goes directly towards our programs.​

Please know, there are multiple ways you can offer assistance:

2. Make a donation in any amount. You can also opt to support our work year-round with a recurring donation!

3. Make a donation of $600 or more to sponsor a DSH program at a public school in a particular district. We’ll assess the number of donations we receive per district and we vow to match those funds with internal outreach to supporters.
